......kinda slow around here, so I thought that a question like this might generate some responses.


Which of the current TV commercials is, for you, the most annoying???

For me, it's the "Homeowners, need cash?" Countrywide garbage. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gif It is on at every break. Sometimes, 2 or 3 times on one commercial break.

Second most irritating is the Cialis/Viagra/ED type of commercials. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif


Anyhow, chime in with your most disliked ads.

99% of them are really irritating,, I was talking to an Ad Exec 30 years ago and he said they were set at a 12 year old mentality.... I think we have progressed (or lack of) to the target age of 8..... All they do is insult me... Especially the J W Whitworth "Do you need Cash Now?" one..... Or Billy Whatshisname for Oxyclean... Hate his voice and yelling.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif
 
Has to bo the Proactive commercials! When that black rapper comes on bragging about not having any pimples it makes me want to puke! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
 
Here is my vote, "This is Bob. Bob has a big new swing of confidence in life..." Followed immediately by another Bob commercial shown back to back. Know what I'm talking about? The outdoors channels get this crap all the time. Wears you out listening to Bob's penis problem. Too much information!
 
The new Ford commercials for the Mustang. They have so emasculated that car that they deserve a serious butt whipping in the market place.
 
I agree with GC about the "Bob's Erection problem" commercial.

I believe the ones that annoy me the most, since I was a kid, is the female products ones. Absorbancy, wings, feminine deodorant, etc...

Another thing that I comment to my wife about is that commercials in general are making guys look like idiots and that the woman makes all the decisions in the house. Of course, she just laughs at me, like "What's your point". /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Dont' get me wrong...I love women. Especially the one I married. You know, the one that runs our home! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Myself and VAnimrod, I don't watch that cussed box /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif. Haven't for over 30 years in our house, but every now and then, I will see some when the idiot box is on at a relatives house. The commercials are disgusting and so is the regular programing /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif.

Like Tony said, men are made to look like idiots too /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif.

Here is an idea to solve the problem, take the tube outside, get your .44 and blow the thing in a million pieces /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif and then get your lawn chair, sit down and watch the grass in your lawn grow /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif. It will be better for you to do that /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif.

That has been my biggest gripe about TV in general for the past 5 years. Not just commercials, but especially the so-called "sitcoms" being force-fed by the networks. The biggest problem is that the general public believes everything they see on TV and accepts it as a way of life. We are becoming a nation of gullible sheep.
 
I have to add something though. Have you guys seen those herpes commercials? They make there lives seem so great and fantastic! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Almost makes you want to run out and get herpes just to see what it's like to have such a wonderful life! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif

First I want to state my 4 YO boy does not watch too much T.V., but he can partialy quote that Damn Bob commercial /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif
 
what about the pill commercials, it takes longer to tell you if you have heart, thyroid, liver, kidneys, eyes, skin, stomach, lungs, headaches, sweating, erection, bowel, cant sleep and suicide thoughts, tell your doctor before taking these toe nail pills.and if you drink water, dont take them while driving.does any one remember the alca-selzer commercial.years ago, a bikini clad sweet young thing is wading out of the ocean, up the beach toward the camera, while it is focused on her belly button????it didnt stay on long, down here in the bible belt....

Sitcoms are really heading in this direction. The Simpsons and Rosanne started this trend I believe. If you have every watched "Everybody Loves Raymond" it's all about husband bashing.

My most annoying commercials are ANY Old Navy commercials, ANY cellphone commericals (Who in the hec needs all of that stuff on a cell phone?), and any commercial where they purposley put a black man, a hispanic, an asian, a white female, and a lowly white male together for the purpose of EEO. It's so blatantly passifying that it makes me sick.
