Muzzle flash

Questions for y'all. How do you guys and gals precent the muzzle flash from flashing the screen on your thermals? Suppressor? Muzzle brake? I called in 3 last night. Got the one, but video sucks due to heavy mist and the flash from the barrel. Didn't know if there's a way around this.

Never been a problem for me. I'm shooting suppressed now, but even unsurpressed what little flash there was with thermal never bothered anything. Now digital NV or NV with IR flash is a whole different issue, and more like shooting a black powder gun in the daytime.

Where you located IowaYote? The mist last night was horrendous. I went out but went back home .. I couldnt see any of my surroundings other than thermal . I have no problems with muzzle flash with my AR on my ATN Thor 4 . Just using the standard A2 Birdcage flash hider.

Same as double up, I have shot suppressed and non-suppressed and can't say I ever really noticed much muzzle flash with my thermal on video. I do use a cover on my suppressor.

As Double Up stated, this is a really big advantage of thermal vs night vision as you are typically blind for a second or two after using Night Vision from the shot, but not thermal. This allows much quicker follow up shots on a miss or on multiples.

What thermal are you using, and what type of gun?

Same experience as DoubleUp. NV and IR will definitely fog the area for a short time. I haven't experienced any issues with thermal. Suppressed and non suppressed.
