Muzzleloader Bullets for Colorado???????

What's your bullet for Colorado for muzzleloaders?

Planning for next fall, and since I'm in Missouri and get to use sabots and scopes for hunting here, they are not allowed in Colorado, I need advice on what to try for Colorado.

Plan on putting a peep sight on and just looking for a little help on bullets.

I'm running an older Knight 50 cal. with 777 loose FFg and still using percussion caps, but am going to change it over to use 209's after this fall.

I use TC maxi-balls and TC maxi-hunters, but i also have been known to use Buffalo Bullets conicals.

Another thing I'm sure you have noticed is no propellent pellets allowed either. It must be a granular propellent and not smokeless, so the new Savage with smokeless powder is not allowed. You can use the new Savage with Pyrodex, Tripple 7 or Goex though.
 
+1 on the Powerbelts.

You didn't mention what species you are going to be hunting. You can run into some pretty healthy mule deer in CO so I would recommend going kinda heavy on your bullet weight. People will argue and that's OK, but I've seen and heard of too many going unrecovered using 245's anyway. Maybe that's why CO doesn't allow sabots.
 
I took 2 whitetails in Arkansas last year (my first deer ever) with my CVA .50 cal Kodiak using 295 grain copper clad Powerbelt hollow points. As thin skinned as whitetail are, the bullets zoomed right through with exit wounds not much bigger than the unfired bullet diameter. One was a double lung shot, the other a heart/lung shot. I am sold on the powerbelts myself, and have no desire to try anything different.
 
I second the TC Maxi-hunter or Maxi-Balls. I like that they are lubed, which makes loading a little smoother, exspecially when your lying on the ground trying not to be seen after you missed your first shot (been there more than once with open sights) 320 grain for deer, 380 for elk.
 
I've got 3 deer this last 3 seasons. With the lead powerbelts. They are not considered saboted because the lead is full size bore. I use the 295 grain and the 2 bucks and 1 doe fell in there tracks. And they are very accurate hit hard, and boy do they expand.
