My coyote and pups...Pictures

I wish NASA would share some of his stories.

Rather than sound like I'm repeating myself, I went looking for the gazillion posts I've made on the subject in the past 5-6 years. No luck. A few snippets, but not the extensive stories I'd posted. Not sure what happened to them. Dumped to save band width? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

Thats cool, a pet coyote. I have always wanted to find some real young fox and raise them, they are such beautiful creatures. I think it would be cool to have a pet coyote and use it as a decoy when hunting coyotes. Seems like that would be more succesful than a bigger dog. Just my opinion.

Raising a coyote is a lot more work than a domestic dog. Unless you plan to keep it on a chain or in a cage. I raised six and the command I used the most was "No!"

Oh, they would come when called, knew their name, loved the command "Car!", would "sit" and "stay" (when they felt like it), but only when being worked alone. When they were all together the pack mentality reigned. It was tough to get them to respond to commands as a group. "Dinner" and "Car" always were the ones that worked best on them as a group.

No, but I almost tried a bobcat. I turned it down because it was already 5 weeks old. A lost cause as a "pet".

Nasa, I know what you are talking about. When we had the 2 pups they were a handful! When you got them separated they were alot like a dog with a short tention span. I may someday get another, but I don't know if I can commit that much time to one right now.

Nasa thanks for the pm!

We did have a couple of fox pups when I was growing up, but got them around 5 week old stage. Needless to say they were a little on the wild side and we didn't have them for long. They returned themselves back to the wild.

NASA- I don't think they were dumped. There may be problmes with the search feature. It is probably there somewhere, if you can find it.

3 of the 4 people that had them said they had NO pics. I have been trying to get a hold of the 4rth guy, I hope he has some. I have a mess of pics of the coyotes when they were pups I am gonna try to scan them this weekend.
