My first go around with paracord

How do you figure out how much cord to use? I would like to make a lanyard for my calls and I know this will change depending on which knot you use but

Thanks!!!

Cobra stitch will use about three times the length you want to stitch. I always like extra because it sucks if you stitch for 45 minutes and end up short. King cobra five to six times the length.

9" bracelet in the standard Cobra Stitch takes 8' of paracord, that includes the inside runners. Take it from there...
I second the Tying it all together on youtube , JD is good at knots and very good at presenting his videos in a usable and clear fashion. He now has a book out, available on Amazon, gonna pick me one up here pretty quick.

This thread inspired me to go get some paracord today and try it out for myself. Thanks for the inspiration! WOOT WOOT thats my 100th post

one thing i like to do is use fishing swivles on my drops ust braid them in as you go another thing i like to use is the small d-loop material and ust tie a simple noose on both ends it works really well and you can tie them real tight around your calls and the nooose on both ends allows you to shorten up your drop to keep them out of the way

Jeremy, I'll use a pink lanyard, for years I used a pink calf rope, keeps guys from stealing my stuff.
Besides, haven't you heard, "real men wear pink",

Cobra stitch takes roughly one foot of cord per one inch of lanyard, and you will not come up short. I usually have some where around 6 inches to a foot left over when it's finished.

Also available on E-Bay.

Thanks Jarhead, I just ordered a bunch of cord from The Supply Captain. I'm excited to get some really cool colors to work with. So far i've got black or green, there's only so much you can do with 2 colors. If you want one Jar, i'll whip one up for ya.
