My new 6.5 Creedmoor

Smokin Barrel

I have had this one together now for a few months. Have only been shooting factory ammo through it to this point to build up some brass and let the boys burn up some powder, but will eventually run 123gr Amax's in it.

I wanted to put something together for my oldest son that I could get factory ammo for him in a pinch. I thought this was a good one since he liked my 6.5x47L so much. It is a kick watching a 65lb 8 year old shoot these things.

Rem 700 Trued
Bartlein RVC finished at 18"
Timney
McM Gamescout 40% Lt Tan, 30% Lt Grey, 30% Black
PTG DBM

Everything was bead blasted and had the rail and DBM Cerakoted in Savage Stainless which seemed to match well. I think the last pic shows the stock colors the best. Marty at Twisted Barrel did all the metal work for me.

Dang, nice toys for the kids !

Very nice and I'm sure that he loves it. I've got about 3 years to round up all the parts for my oldest son.

5 shots of the Hdy American Gunner 140gr HPBT. This ammo is $50 per 50 rounds....not bad for "cheap" ammo.

Made an adjustment and shot 5 more...I pulled the last one!

Here is the 120gr Amax. Made an adjustment after the first 2 on the left.

It definitely likes the AG ammo. I am curious how the 123gr Amax will do.

That's really impressive shooting Smokin Barrel. I was going to ask you about the quality of the American Gunner brass. Does it seem to be the same as the Hornady Match. Thank you.

I don't see any differences yet.
