I've had an urge to put together a longer range rifle setup than my typical woods-hunting rigs. Since I was already into loading for 7mm Rem. Mag. I figured that was as good a place as any to start. So, a few weeks back a local shop ran a sale on the Kimber Mountain Ascent rifles. My buddy bought one in .270 and I bought a 7 mag. Yesterday I took my wife's car for service in a town about 40 miles from here, and there happens to be a good gunshop nearby. They had a killer sale on a few Leupolds, and I picked up a VX3 HD 4.5-14x50 with the CDX turrets. Had a set of Talley rings already, so now for some load development work.
