Well thanks to the input, ideas and pictures from members here and other forums, I put together my own receiver hitch mounted spotlighting/hunting chair. Used what ideas and suggestions I liked and incorporated them into my set-up. Here are a few pics of what I came up with!

Using my personally modified, "Damper", spot light system.

In transport mode.

Main frame is 2" x 2" by 1/4" square tubing. Gusseted with 3/4" gusset and side braced with 1/4" plates for strength and stability.

Side anchored to frame via 3/4" by 1.5" straps bolted to frame and using 1" nylon ratchet straps. ( Was really surprised how ridged this made chair, which is 7' from floor to seat, no side to side movement at all) Will see how these straps hold up, if they show signs of failure, will replace them with 1/4" cable and turnbuckles.

Swivel is made from a rear wheel spindle from a front wheel drive car(smooth!!!). Made a latch so seat doesn't spin while in transport. Also have a stop so that seat will only spin about 345-350 degrees to prevent damage to wiring.

Yes, that is a seat belt. No this unit will not be used for mobile hunting, seat belt is just to keep my or whoevers tail safely in the seat while in use. Light and rest are easily removed by loosening t-handle set screw. This allows unit to fit into my shop and prevent vibration damage to light while driving. Using remote deep cycle battery for now, will see how long battery holds up, may look into wiring into vehicle charging system if need be so battery could be recharged moving from one stand to another. Now just need it to cool off a little so I can try it out, upper 80's at night is just a little to warm to be hunting!
Unit can easily be swapped to another vehicle as long as it has a receiver hitch.
Well, what do Ya'll think?

Very nice!

Have used a receiver hitch based chair for several years now, and, FWIW here are a couple of observations which may or may not be applicable. (My chair has been an evolving project to correct minor unforseen problems in original design

.)

If you do have a stability problem, a simple fix would be to run a couple of bars from footrest to cartop carrier.

I run my light off the vehcle battery through trailer battery charging wire in trailer connector. Since we move quite often during the night, never had a problem running battery down.

Let us know how it works, and remember the pics
