My sons first mule deer.

This mule deer was shot Thanksgiving morning by my son on a youth hunt. He spotted the deer and then the buck stepped out. I ranged them (263 yards) and gave him some advice.. He shot the buck twice with the second shot slumping him where he stood. The rifle was a Savage 111, 270 Winchester. The load was 55 grains of 4064, 140 gr bthp Sierra.

He is 15 yrs old. Was a cold morning and I think he learned a lesson in dressing in layers...
