For my first 15 years of coyote hunting in Eastern Colorado, I never saw a single mangy coyote. Then in the early 2000's, hunting on the Kansas border, I saw my first one.

Over the next several years, mange spread farther and farther West and I finally saw one in the Denver Metro area.

I still have not seen mange in our mountains, yet.

Even with mange, I've seen what I think is the same coyote before and after 3-4 days of sub-zero temps one February.
