NcSTAR scopes who has them?

Brother, I honestly hope it winds up being a good buy for ya, because the one I HAD wasn't worth the box it came in. After about 10-12X it was very blurry, wasn't clear on any power out to the edges(fish eye lens effect) and the illuminated reticle was too bright even on the lowest setting. And it didn't hold zero.

I bought one of these for my AR-15.My scope wouldn't hold zero it was a piece of junk ! I took it off and bought a Eotech 512 .

Perhaps all the ones that I have looked through were bad ones, but man! Were they ever bad ones! I looked through Coke bottles with more clarity! And those were full of Coke too! Good luck with yours!
 
I try and stick with lower cost, lower power 3x9 scopes. Nikon,Weaver, Leupold. I've just had poor results with high mag. Chinese scopes. Some of the Philippines made Nikon scopes seem decent.
 
i got one of their red dots, my .22A killed it after about 10 shots. never got it sighted in and now it shuts off every other shot.....
 
Looks like you are getting about a 20% positive review with the NCStar - I have nothing good to say about them. Cautioned a friend who bought one and as predicted, he ended up throwing money away. You gets what you pays for... and optics are a great example.
 
of friend of mine put one on his ar,2-7,with bdc and lighted cross hare,why he did it i dont know,why do you need bdc if you cant see 300yds with it.Not very clear even at 100yds,and he wonders why he cant shoot good groups.Save up a little more and get something a little better,you wont be sorry,i used to be cheap with scope,now ill never go back.I could have bought 3 bushnell 3-9-40 sharpshooer brand new,for 10.00ea,and turnned them down
 
I bought one for my Ruger MK11 pistol. So far so good as long as I leave it on 2x. 7x is like trying to look through a fog. I knew better when I bought it but just had to see for myself.

I've been in the same senerio when I started shooting. I my experience you don't realize how junky a cheap scope is till you buy a good one(Leupold, Nikon, Burris, etc). If you are still buying NC stars you have not owned a good one yet. I used to swear up and down that Simmons were good quality scopes till I hunted with a Leupold. I still own a couple of Aetecs but I won't argue over their quality.
 
Yep, It's amazing the amount of junk that I bought back when "I knew EVERYTHING "there was to know about the shooting sports. I'm glad I'm dumber now /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

this scope holds zero fine but the clarity is awful at 24x the net scope i buy will be a very good one like a luepold or nightforce i use to cringe at the thoght or spending more on a scope then the rifle its on but the rifle isnt worth a darn if the scope is junk

an next time im asking yall about a product BEFORE i buy it lol
 
Scopes can often times be the overlooked "weak link" in all the things that make a rifle shoot accurately.

Even if it does shoot accurately, what good is it if you can't see what you are shooting at because of fuzzy optics?

Clarity & ability to hold zero are my number one criteria for optics.

What is it that has been tagged to many a forum post -

or something like that.

I put the scopes NcStar, Barska, BSA, Tasco and several others onto the same list. Titled - "Scopes I don't buy"
