I just got home from a hunt with Articfox from Sweden. He'd been down in Arizona hunting some coyotes with some of our southern PM members.
I had a ball. He's a very knowledgeable guy about a variety of subject. Very fun to find out all about Sweden and it's hunting.
He also has eyes like a hawk. I couldn't believe the critters he spotted on the horizon (and, if you've ever been to ND, you know how far the horizon is!!!)
Anyway, as I type this, he's on a plane headed for home. Only 30 hours of travel time. ISH!
I just wanted to get some of the highlights posted. I'll let him tell as much of his hunt story as he wants.
I picked him up at the airport on Thursday about noonish. We went to Scheel's in Fargo for his license. His Swedish info kind of took the counter girl for a loop but we finally managed to get him licensed and then we were off.
The first stand was a gimme. Things went according to plan and Ulf was obviously impressed. Afterwards he said that he thought the first stand was a success. Here's the picture from the first stand.
I'm the bald guy on the left. The smiling guy on the right is Ulf.
Following our lunch, we drove to Jamestown which would be our basecamp for the next day and a half of hunting.
My nephew, Dave Furlong joined us on our hunt. Here's a pic of he and Ulf after we got done with one unsuccessful stand.
This was one cool old house. It's right at the edge of a prairie lake. (I'm sure it wasn't even close when it was built but the water levels in ND have been rising for the past several years.) I thought that if this house could talk, it would have enough stories to write a book. It was kind of cool so I thought I'd include a shot of it here.
After I dropped Ulf off at the airport, I had time for one more stand before I left town. This one was successful too!
Ulf, it was a pleasure to hunt with you. You are welcome here anytime!
I hope all of you enjoyed the pics of the hunt. I'll let Ulf fill you in the rest of the hunt if he chooses.
