necking up or necking down?

That I think was there intention,I don't know when things changed.Slowly slowly we will get a rifle season I think, maybe. This year it names a few (and I think last year) chamberings .357 Mag,.44Mag .458 SOCOM.

Might consider a few options from J.D. Jones @ SSK Industries. I was kicking the tires on something as well, but already have $$$ in wildcat pistols.

.375 Whisper - 7mm Br necked to .375
.375/454 Woodswalker (454 Casull necked to .375)
.458/500 Woodswalker (500 S&W necked to .458)

Yeah,I think there are alot of options. And they'll all work.Youngdon reccomends .357 max. it'll work.I mean I killed deer with the old Xp in .35 Rem.(which out runs the max) I guess I'am looking at a bolt action,That will probably be the way I'll go.Just haveing a hard time thinking of buying a Winchester Super Short action, just to build this on and then the law gets changed. What do you do with a ss with a 404 jeffery bolt face?Just about my first thought was the Br case you wouldn't know the case capacity (34gr. h2o in 6br) with a .35 slug? It'll probably give up alot of speed to the .35 wssm(guessing 55gr. h2o),where somethin on the .284 case(66gr h2o when full lenght) will give up less. Mrgunslinger says .35 grem producing 2300(what bullet?).That would get'r done.

I was taking a hard look at the 375/454 Woodswalker

This will push a .375 caliber 200gr at 2375fs from a 15” Encore bbl. This is achieved with 32.5 grains of H110. Add about 8% increase in velocity for a 26” rifle barrel would put this in the 2565fs area.

I’ve done extensive work with an H&R 500 S&W 22”bbl single shot for my cousin, I’m eager to see how it does on deer. We are using Sierra 350 HP’s at 2200fs; wet newsprint tests at 100Y are very impressive.

Good luck with your choice.
