Very true, in regards to accuracy. If you'll note, I said as much back on page 4. In regards to Savage....."They shoot no better on average than a 700, Vanguard, Sako, Tikka or CZ."

Remington still sports the most worthy action to build upon........

I agree 100 percent on both statements. Some just cost less. Its hard to argue that the 700 action isnt the most widely used action for building out there.

And my point is that unless you are into competition shooting this discussion is relatively pointless. As each individual is going to have their own choice for which is best. As I said unless you have spent the time to truly train yourself or be coached to time and place shots the level of error in the shooter is more substantial then the difference in the comparable "Out of the Box" rifles. If I want A 1000+ yard accurate target gun then I have one built for it. And that rifle never is "Out of the Box"... Making this A pointless discussion... Spend just as much money machining and milling and parting out a factory rifle as just getting A match rifle built to fit you. If you are truly looking for the most accurate rifle. Good luck.

Rhino.

You need to spend more time here.

Some folks here have Stevens 200 rifles that will shoot on par with the best custom rifles available. At least that's what some of them say...

For killing purposes I like my 22-250. They always hit the ground instantly with it. If you want to salvage a pelt, I'd go with 22 hornet, or 17 fireball. Just my opinion.
