Hey guys,
I have a rather old Savage model 340D in a .222 cal bolt action rifle. It currently has a scope on it with a Weaver side 1" scope mount. This is because I believe the spent cartridge is dislodged rather high on the barrel and not out the immediate side. The problem is my scope is rather small for light transmission and would like to get a
3-9x50 scope. The problem is the current scope almost touches the barrel as is. I don't think a 3-9x50 will fit in the scope mount due to barrel clearance. I don't see any where else I can add a scope mount. I have bridged scope mounts on my other rifles but they are all center scope mounts, not side mounts. Please if anyone has had past experience with this rifle and situation I'm all ears.
I can post some photos tomorrow when I get the photos uploaded.
Thanks ahead of time for reading and taking the time to help.
