I am having this bobcat mounted and wanted to solicit ideas for a pose to have her mounted in to really show off those colors of hers. What do you think? See more pictures and read the story.

Sitting. You want to show that belly fur off. Especially if she was sitting in typical cat style when you shot her.

Just my 2 cents...Tony

My dad has one mounted leaping up at a covey of quail that are flushing out from under him. Pretty cool. There are a couple quail flying just under it's belly and there is another flying with the bobcat's claw just catching it's tail.

Here's one of the best I've seen. Really shows off the cat well too.

Stunning mount in my opinion, and should that day finally come where I can put a cat in front of my boy and he can keep it together and take him, this is the guy I'm shipping my stuff to. A lot of taxidermists have problems with making cats look natural. Cats are hard, but this guys stuff looks extraordinary. He's in Michigan.

I'm just a few miles south of you in Agoura Hills at the present time. If you know of someone in our neighborhood who's good though, I would sure like to see their stuff.

if i knew how to post pics i would send mine,,,its a cat with a paw up and its mounted on a stump that came off of my great grandpa's farm in West Virginia,,its really nice

well davr took my first idea, and crapshoot my second. i love the laying down streatched out pose. but the leap will also show that belly with action.

I love full body mounts, but in the case of your beauty I would probably go with a rug to show off all the spots. However, I did a full body mount for a fellow a few years back, he just said "make it look good" and gave me full rein. I chose a mount of a cat rolling on the ground, twisting with one paw reaching above its head. The mount turned out beatifully, really showing off the belly spots.
I believe I got the form from WASCO or Van Dykes. If you log onto Taxidermy.net and go to suppliers you can check out all of the options in bobcat forms today- there are plenty! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Here's mine, got this one down in Texas, with Todd, Jeff and Skeet. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif You can see his last living moments on Texas Predator Pursuit Vol II
