Need opinions on vortex optics.

I've got the 4-16x44 Viper HS and Love it for the same purpose you're looking to use it for. I traded my Nikon Monarch for it because the Vortex has better cross hairs (in my opinion) This helps me place a more accurate shot when it comes to the 200+ yard shots. Not that those are taken often, but it helps when the time is right. I got it on sale for $399 new, and haven't looked back.

I bought a Viper HS 2.5X10x44 to put on my .280 for my elk hunt this year. Really great optic's IMO thing was very easy to zero where I wanted it and stayed there after pounding through the mountain for almost 50 miles. Of course this is the first scope I have bought in 15 years and all my equipment to date was not top of the line. Most being midgrade Tasco's and Bushnell's and I ain't knocking them tipped over a lot of deer with in 300yrs with those scopes.
