NEF Handi Rifles

The stevens 200 is a great affordable rifle, preaccutrigger model 11 (111) i believe.

Bench vs Realworld is apples to oranges i agree. Good to have a benchmark though (no?).

I have a 243 handy that will shoot 1 in. groups at 100 yds. Bought a 17 hmr. that keyholed a box of rounds before I traded it in. The huntsman muzzle loader will outshoot a Thompson Center any day with different powder charges. It all comes down to how good of a barrel you get.

It's amazing every year the groups shrink to almost unbelievable size. It's either pure fantasy or if you shoot enough groups sooner or later they all come together for that .325 group.

This is what my 223 Handi rifle did during a single shooting session with cheap remanufactured ammo. It performs like that pretty consistently as long as I don't mess up. The rifle is picky about how it's positioned in the rest and how the trigger is pulled, so that's why I only do 3-shot groups. It's not an easy rifle to shoot, but it is accurate as you can see. That said, I'd never buy a Handi rifle. I won this one in a $20 raffle.

hello...i think stiff neck summed up thing's very well...i had two...i grew tired of there inconsistant shooting...from a bench rest...i still think they are good field gun's & may own another @ some point...ya never say never...i have shot group's similar to stiff's...among other thing's wandering p.o.i. drove me crazy...you love & hate these rifle's @ the same time...i do think they serve a purpose & i have learned they have a large following...to some degree there must be a reason for that...i do know they feel good in the hand & to me feel good to swing to the shoulder...if you get one the boy's over @ graybeard outdoor's are great guy's if you need help...

I have a NEF Survivor in 223 that I neither love nor hate. It's compact enough and easy to carry dispite the heavy barrel. Can carry an entire box of ammunition in the buttstock. Its shoots well enough that I have complete confidence in it as a hunting rig. Have been able to kill several coyotes using it, even one double. That being said it's still a single shot NEF, and that's really about all that keeps it from taking its place as one of my favorite rifles. Despite the fact that the one I have performs very well for me and my needs, it receives enough negative reviews and writeups about it that I just can't love it. Kinda like the doomed wssm's I can't stop buying. I'll take it out from time to time, and it'll do its job perfectly only to be placed back in my safe in favor of one of my bolt guns. I can't explain it. I just sent it in to get fitted for a new fluted 1-9 twist barrel. I can't explain that either. So I neither hate it nor do I love it.
