Nemo Tents

Just wanted to give a thumbs up to Nemo Eqipment. I didn't see a camping specific forum on here so I figured I would post up in here where i spend most my time browsing.

In 2009 I researched a lot of lightweight backpacking/hunting tents for a 2 week elk hunt in Montana. I end up choosing the Nemo Nano, it turned out to be an amazing tent and survived 2 weeks of nasty weather flawlessly. Also in 2009 it survived the Sturgis motorcycle rally, which consisted of lots of large hail, wind and rain.

Fast forward a few years of no camping I pulled it out of my Rubbermaid tote, and surprised the girlfriend for her birthday with a camping trip to the black hills. The poles on this tent ran on the inside of the tent and were held in place with Velcro strips. The Velcro strips separated from the tent material causing the poles to be able to wander a bit, but didn't affect the tents performance in any way. It kept us nice and dry in several rain storms.

Once I returned home I was trying to decide if I could just super glue the Velcro strips back on, and after some internet research didn't find anything helpful. I decided it was time to call Nemo to see what glue I should use. I talked to Jessica there and she gave me a return/repair number and told me to mail them the tent and they would take care of the repairs or replace if it didn't show signs of neglect. I mailed my tent and several days later I received an email from Ben at Nemo saying they would give me $369 credit to their store to purchase anything I would like, because my tent was showing signs of hydrolysis.

I replaced my tent with an Obi 2person.

I highly recommend Nemo Equipment and their customer service!! I am also no way associated with them, hope this helps others make their choices when it comes to camping gear!
