Nevada draw is out.

I drew unit 021 just north of Reno. It is about 20 minutes from the house. Only problem is is that I'm very familiar with 022 just on the other side of the road. Lots of scouting this summer for roads, trails and deer. Not alot of deer in the area but there are some very nice ones. My buddy has already commited to go with me. I'll do my homework.

sure hope i get my elk tag but two years in a row might be tough.

I'm really excited about it. I'll be practicing with the smokepole all summer. I hope to be proficient out to 150 yards.

I've got 12 days off of work to find a big one. Any knowledge of the unit or tips from anyone would certainly be appreciated and kept confidential.
 
Mt. Moriah (sp) I believe is in your area. Its wilderness I believe so you'll have to do some hiking but there should be some descent bucks around.
 
Crapshoot I was just out your way last week. I went shooting in the dessert just SE of you. I was South of Boulder City, went out on some blm and just shot the new AR with the kids and a friends kids. I saw one coyote while I was driving, didn't have a chance to get out and get him though. I didn't try calling we got a flat tire on the way out there and ran out out of daylight by the time we got it changed.

not trying to hijack just saw your post with yotestomper in it. and the last time I was out there he and I went calling a little farther south of where I was. good luck to you guys on your muley's and elk.
 
Update to original post. We both drew early deer, nut I drew late elk and he drew early elk which means his elk hunt is the same time as our deer hunt.
