Nevada rattle snakes while coyotes

I flour and fry all the ones I kill. Anything taste good when cooked in oil.

A few of the restaurants out here serve them as appetizers.

Grizz, I agree 100% about them Mojaves. It would be bad enough gettin' bit by a snake let alone one with two types of venom mixed together. That's a nasty little coctail they're pumpin' into critters.

My dad, brother, and myself all wear snake boots. We swear by them. IMHO, I'm not willing to take chances like getting bit.

I live out towards Fernley and I have seen more rattle snakes this year than past years. Most of the snakes we have seen have in the hills been around rock out cropings and springs. We have seen a few along the Truckee but not that many. I would just pay attention where you are walking and where you are going to sit. They are a little hard to spot this year with all of the growth from the wet spring.

I've grown up in the Chihuahuan Desert around here for years, and only seen then near civilization. I've never had a problem with them, and I trained 4-5years for SAR and it was year round, but never had any problems. Did have a problem with Collard Peccary.

So, it is possible to avoid them just about completely.
