Never going back to a Lube Pad again!

Well I made the step and purchased some Lyman spray Lube last night. I sat down for the first time this morning with the boy and about 500 pieces of brass (223 & 204) and all I have to say is wow! Its awesome load a tray up give it a light spray and two sides and away you go! No rolling and lubing the inside with a q-tip. The first tray I sprayed a little two much and had four or five cases with dents. But the next 450 went awesome! It was nice I think I might go work some 30-06 brass lol. Sorry for the dumb post but I just thought I would share! Now to load up 500 rounds

Do you have to let it dry before sizing? I have some One Shot and it must dry first. Then its sticky feeling after. Personally prefer the Imperial Sizing lube myself.

The can says to let it dry 30 second. It is not sticky at all it is quite slick. I am happy with it and for 4 bucks cheaper then hornday quick lube I can't complain. From what I understand most of them are lanolin based I don't know about the one shot but thee lymann stuff feels good to me. RP

what a breeze huh? I use the one shot takes about a minute and a half. I then tumble it clean an you should see the shine on the stuff.

I did try the sprays and then went back to Imperial which is where I will stay.

I use the Hornady One Shot, no complaints

I read in an article in NRA publication many years ago where an author described how he lubed thousands of .223 cases for competition with his AR15.

He used Lee water soluble wax. He mixed wax with water, put .223 cases in a chug and mix them up for a few minutes before draining the solution from brass. He air dried brass for couple of days and they are ready for reloading. Brass was deprimed before wax treatment. Lee wax, once dried, does not hurt powder and this method lubes inside case neck.

I tried this method with one hundred .223 cases and it worked out good.

The spray, however, is more convenient for low volume reloading.

Just a thin smear around the bottom 1/2 of the case with your thumb and index finger.

I got the lee lube and have been using it. I also ordered a lube kit pad and used it one time and will probably never use it again. I also have heard a lot of praise for the Imperial sizing wax that I will probably go with it when the lee lube is gone. Rick

I have used both Lee lube and Imperial sizing wax.
Imperial sizing wax is superior to Lee Lube in its lubricity. However, Lee is much easier to use for high volume case lubing. I use Imperial Wax mainly for forming brass from one caliber to another and for reloading only a box of 20 shells.
