Never going back to a Lube Pad again!

I love the spray for smaller cases, 223 is ideal, but I have trouble with magnum cases getting stuck when lubed with spray.

I really have to make sure I get a good covering on the magnum brass rather than a quick spray like on .223.

I notice that to with the one shot, smaller cases like 222 and 243/25-06 are very easy, where as my magnums like 264/7RM/ 338 EDGE is not very easy when resizing. With the 338, its exceptionally hard. Can spray more lube but then you run into dented necks/shoulders. It says to spray from all 4 sides though at a downward angle so it gets into the neck. Usually when I size my 338s I'll get a qtip and swipe the inside neck with rcbs lube, makes it 10x easier.

I've never tried the imperial, seems like a hassle and time consuming versus spray?

I'll use a lube pad if I'm only doing 20 or so, but when I'm doing 50 or more, I'll get the one shot.

Have fun with that 500 rounds!!!

I did another 100 rounds of 30-06 this morning and I did notice I had to put more on the 30-06 cases but they all sized no sticking and all looked good not neck dents. So fat I am very happy with the Lyman Lube rp

When I purchased the RCBS lube pad it came with two ounces of liquid lube and the directions said to apply two tablespoons of this on the pad. Well that lube never soaked into the pad. I got the liquid all over the place and when I did size a case I got dented necks. Anybody know what I did wrong or how to correct the problem. Rick

Yeah, your supposed to rub it into the pad as you apply it! Still a mess though! The dents are caused by using too much lube, it's called a "lube dent". Ron

+1 My Lee hand press kit came with their lube. It's good but I like the Hornady UCL better.

I started with Imperial. Tried One Shot, and didn't like the stickiness. Tried Lyman....first one dented the shoulder on a 204, tried more lube and dented the next worse, tried less the third time and I stuck a case so bad that I destroyed my die trying to get it out.

I have no doubt that it is user incompetence, but after those two outings I'm back to wax. I don't mind applying it, but hate wiping it off. So I just tumble it a second time.

I'd be down for some other commercial product that I don't have to make using 1 part lanolin, 2 parts bat wing, and 1 part ghoul liver. I guess I'm lazy too.

Learned on a pad, tried on my own...pain in the rear. I havent used one since. I dont use the spray, I found out that other lubes work just as well. I even tried cutting oil.....worked just fine.
