Its hard to beat a FoxFro due to their excellent customer service and plentiful free sounds not to mention the ability to use common MP3s without a problem.
I currently use a Shockwave. my main gripe is the line of sight remotes and the need to use a computer to make a hunt sequence, if the shockwave had the remote transmitter from an alpha dogg I would be in heaven. I love the Baro/Temp/Moon Phase/timer/Auto Shutoff
I haven't had the opportunity to try the flextone, Lucky Duck and GameTraks
I had an Alpha Dogg and liked it, great performance for the price. (gifted to a Friend)
my first call was a Wildfire2, and still have it (not impressed) good sound selection, poor remote performance, battery door falls off while carrying it slung.
recently bought a Johnny Stewart GS2 for testing, good remote performance and it has potential if they can iron out the flexibility of being able to use common mp3s. certain sounds work and others don't.
all of them are capable of getting the job done, the call is only as good as the person operating it.
its probably best to categorize the "best" call based on budget.
here are my current thoughts and opinion:
$0-$25 = hand calls
$26-$75 = Ruger Ihunt and hand calls (assuming you have a smartphone)
$76-$150 = Johnny Stewart GS2 and hand calls (could be a game changer if memory/mp3 function fixed)
$151-200 = Primos Alpha Dogg and hand calls
$200+ = ???? I like my Shockwave but would like to try a Flextone, Lucky Duck, and GameTraks
speaking of Lucky Duck, man that camera looks cool! too bad I mostly night hunt.
