The spectrum of colors that canines see has resulted in many recent tests. The photography with use of color filters will now allow us to see pretty much what a canine sees...
One of the colors that canines see as a very neutral muted tone is a soft pink.
Of course, you wouldn't want to put on a suit of pink and go calling because it stands out against the background you are calling in....But, blended soft pink tones are very hard to beat when it comes to how a coyote is able to distinguish colors blended into a natural background.
During the course of filtered photgraphy research, some surprizing results emerged with some of the greener camo patterns actually standing out against any background from a coyote's perspective.
Of course a coyote is only one animal. The rods and cones in their eyes are different than cats. Cats see in more color tones somewhat closer to what humans see. Not all animals are colorblind. Each species sees colors a different way.
I trust the studies are correct, but they are re-confiming the older studies as well.
I'd wear a ghillie with pink blended in any day.
