Gone Live.
Get one for your wife for Christmas.
Give her a big surprise.
Lord knows she's tired of jewelry.

This call is extra special for me because the insert card features Tal Lockwood himself during one of his fox hunts.

Oh yeah..."Lord knows she's tired of jewelry".....

I gotta say, THAT would be a big surprise. Especially if you put it in one of those black velvet jewelry boxes....

I'll go a step further and say you'll REALLY be surprised at the amount of lovin' you get after that gift!

Better stick to your finer honed survival instints, guys and get HER jewelry, and then you can get the Tally-Ho for yourself.

Trust me, she won't mind a bit.

Jay, I just saw that a guy in the Predator Forum called up a triple with your Tally-Ho...

Pretty good advertising!

nothing like your hands emitting a blaze orange flicker when a predator is approuching. on the other hand i have called and harvested alot of preds w/ a tally w/out a lanyard, got excited, put call on lap, got up, tally never 2 b found!

Got my 2 Tally Ho calls in the mail yesterday....could have swore i got the Hunter Orange one but i guess not...but i got 2 so cant wait to try them.......soon as i learn how to use them

So what you are saying is that all the RED Tally-Ho calls sold since 1964 have been useless because of a nickel-size flicker?

The buy now button for this unit on the site is no worky.

Does this mean I can't buy the Special Edition Orange "coyote repelling" flashing call?

Any chances of extending that run by one unit?

EDIT: I'm an idiot, I figured it out...nevermind....

Actually the BEST camo color for coyotes would be PINK!

If you're serious, I can put that to a test. Have only seen navy blue woodland camo patterns but my friend's wife is a seamstress. If I can get the fabric I can ask her to make it.

Thanks!

The spectrum of colors that canines see has resulted in many recent tests. The photography with use of color filters will now allow us to see pretty much what a canine sees...

One of the colors that canines see as a very neutral muted tone is a soft pink.

Of course, you wouldn't want to put on a suit of pink and go calling because it stands out against the background you are calling in....But, blended soft pink tones are very hard to beat when it comes to how a coyote is able to distinguish colors blended into a natural background.

During the course of filtered photgraphy research, some surprizing results emerged with some of the greener camo patterns actually standing out against any background from a coyote's perspective.

Of course a coyote is only one animal. The rods and cones in their eyes are different than cats. Cats see in more color tones somewhat closer to what humans see. Not all animals are colorblind. Each species sees colors a different way.

I trust the studies are correct, but they are re-confiming the older studies as well.

I'd wear a ghillie with pink blended in any day.

Here's one article that hits on colors, but it's older than some of the more recent studies and articles done.

http://www.predatormastersforums.com/k9colorvision.shtml

Dr. Charles Shawley conducted an extensive test and photo realization of coyotes, and how they percieve colors as related to the camo patterns and colors we have today.

That series of articles and photos was featured in Predator Xtreme magazine.

Here's the two photos of what we see versus what coyote see, colorwise.

Reds, Oranges, and especially Pink hues will appear very neutral to coyotes, as they see it as a tan color.

Now....any takers on pink camo?

(Or Hunters Orange Tally Ho's.....

Barry i called in four on one stand Sunday with a tally ho
shot none #%^*&^% well it wasn't the calls fault
i asked about getting one of these when i ordered my bourbonator on 11/25/09.
i called in 7 on Sunday and 2 on Saturday last weekend.
two with Kerry's call as a cottontail and brads yotehunter as a howler.
5 with the tally as a jack and as a howler. 4 on one stand
Saturday we used the foxpro and several custom calls but the only two coyotes were called with the tally ho.
also had a argument with a coyote saturday evening using the tally hoe but he was all mouth and no fight
i have been trying to get pics with my custom calls with dead coyotes. if i took pics of the tally ho with them everyone would be using them and i can't have that.
7 tally's to 2 with others for the weekend.
wish i could find a yellow and a ice tally then i would have them all (when i get the 2010)
PS i want to see all the colors of tally ho's in my collection.

Casey,
The problem with ordering the orange Tally-Ho was on my end.
The link is now fixed.
Not sure if I can help you with a Yellow Jacket Tally-Ho but might be able to find the Winter Ice Tally-Ho.

Nice report on the Tally-Ho calls. Eventually more and more callers will discover what you already know.

Barry, you can wear the pink camo but I think I will stick with my old stuff. I just can't afford to buy an all new wardrobe, lol. Thank you for posting that interesting info for us.

got it ordered
got one more with my green tally hoe today.(red one is on the sling of my 243)
i kept seeing tire tracks where i was calling.
when i got to the end of the road there was someone else calling the same areas i called just ahead of me.
they were useing electronics and hadn't seen anything.
the one that came to me was just with the jack rabbit no howls at all. i feel the tally outdid the high dollar caller.
my hunting partners stood me up on the elk hunt. i went anyway but changed my mind when my truck fell threw the creek crossing and i had to break ice for a hour to get out.
i also didn't want to pack a elk vary far by myself.
so i went calling instead i didn't get out there tell 10:30
roads were much better and smoother where i go calling then where i go elk hunting.
let me know on the ice tally hoe jay----but i'm not driving the dodge on the ice i saw enough of that kind of ice today.
