Hello i buying a new atv tuesday and whanted to know if any one has or had a artic cat thunder cat. I had the brute force 750 and the wife has the brute 650 but the 650 pulling my disc just works it a little more the i like when you really get to going to town with it. Thought the extra cc on the thunder cat would come in handy for that and hauling fire wood from the timber this year with my trailer. share your thoughts im all ears

We love our ATVs here. Use them everyday.

But, when it comes to farming the four-wheelers we normally use are Deere, Ferguson & International.

We do occasionally use our JD Buck (ATV?) to pull a small harrow or pipe trailer. It takes a "Country Mile" to turn around and no one likes to drive it when they can take a Honda instead. But it is a heavy duty dependable "Truck/Tractor" like vehicle. The guys do like the JD Gator.

Sorry. Not much help with the Arctic Cats, but anxiously awaiting posts from those who use them that way. Seems like a great "Extreme Test." :thumb;

we have a suzuki eiger and kawasaki mule. i love both have had honda 4wheelers and gators hated the gator too slow 4 wheel dr in back for wheels and no cab. the mule has actually replaced a truck here for fencing feeding checking cows and my dad hauling grand kids. won a polaris DU edition in 08 at DU banquet. owned approx. one month and sold it will never own another polaris or 4 wheel dr unit. cant cut and turn as hard or fast when trying to cut cows out or dr. calves we traded our ponies in yrs ago.

emtpredator: You mustbe a flat lander and always have dry ground to run you ATV on..LOL
Each model of ATV surves a purpose to each of us.. Some of us hunt when the groud is muddy or are out when frozen and then the surface thaws out at noon and turns to gumbo..A two wheel drive won't cut it up in the midwest or western states..
I've had a Kaw. Mule i used for ice fishing, coyote hunting and yard work.. It was a great machine and the only thing i did'nt like about mine was the metal body was noisey and was'nt fast enough, but other wise a great machine..
Now i've moved on to a Polaris RZR another great machine and the only issues i have with it is it could use a little more room in back and its a little noisey ( loud muffler)The RZR is pretty snappy and will turn circles pretty fast and its a 4 wheel drive.. Its a good machine overall.
This year i traded off the mule and got the Kaw. Terra 4x4.. It has more room than the RZR and sits a little higher and almost as fast..
Many of my friends have various makes and models and they all seem to be pretty good.. Kaw., Polaris, Honda, ski-doo, Artic-cat they are all good, and a person just needs to look around and find one that fits his needs and lifestyle..

i have seen that rsr looks pretty cool. is it belt driven like the old pol quads. that was the biggest prob i had with the pol. and the turning radius. i wish i had some flat land lol. ours is all hills some very steep here in east ky. and clay of course ( the best to grow tobacco on.)i agree i worked on a ranch in oklahoma did all cow work on 4wd models if one broke the guys riding ponys ahd to run them down to catch them cause u just couldnt turn tight enough. my dad is disabled and the reason we went with the mule was the height to the bed it was alot easier for him to through junk in the back. but i agree they all have there place in the world my cuz actually owns the polaris and arctic cat dealer now. next quad will problaly have to be pol again or artic cat. the way econimy is its going to be a while before my stimulas pckage comes in for that new one though.

Other than the Hondas are there other newer ATVs that are not belt driven? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

i have a honda foreman for a personal bike and really like it, for a company bike i have a artic cat and you are sure not going to get me to buy one for myself. it turns hard, i had to put a whole new frame under it before i had it a year, and even with the silencer on it you need ear plugs, plus if you get it stuck or turn it over plan to go get help to get it back going, i've had to walk out along ways to get help and i dont like to walk that much. granted the frame was due to 1500 miles in a prairie dog town at 10 mph but i just dont think its as tough as the honda.
