New bbl & Contender Locked and won't open!! HELP!!

What may work is to take a one piece locking bolt use it in your newer barrel for the older frame. If you'd like to try this I can send you a one piece. I have a few. I am surprised that Mike Bellm couldn't help you.
 
Had one that wouldn't lock up. Changed the lug and all was good. Also had a new barrel for an old reciever. Sent it to TC for a fit. I don't remember it they charged me for the fit.
 
No that barrel is a 44mag TC Hot Shot barrel from factory. TC made there own shotshell ammo for the 44mag back in the day. The barrel has a choke to shoots the hotshot loads and you take it out to shoot bullets. I had a problem with the barrel when I bought the gun I tried some 44s out of it and everytime I'd shoot the brass would split.

I sent it in to TC they checked it out sent me a letter explaining the barrel had been rechambered. They then explained they did not appove of rechambering there barrels, and it was not covered under their warranty. So they sent me a new Colt 45/.410 barrel free of charge. They've had great customer service thru the learning curve that has been my used Contender purchase. They kept the 44 barrel so I dont have it anymore but I think it had been rechambered to a .41O since the Hotshot ammo was discontinued years ago.

So my Contender has been a year long project. I have 22h and 223 barrel I traded the 45/410 for the 22h so I'm happy now I'd like to get a super 14 .17Rem for it but thats all. So that means one more trip to TC if I cant find one to fit.

He did take the time to explain several issues that have occurred over the years it was actually a nice chat. I would like to try the one piece that you have and see if it works, I will pm you my address and we can go from there. Thank you for your help.

VAPREDHUnter, I think it was just the picture angle that threw me off. I have had a couple of these Oct barrel with a brake on them- like yours- It just looked like a new version with larger holes than what was produced- I have owned about 2 dozen Hunter barrels- some older and some newer- the newer one had the larger muzzle brake holes while the older had holes roughly 1/4 the size. Nice rig. yeah on the brass splitting- I wish I had a nickle for everyone of those. I just sent ED 3 new 12 inch hunters. If you have never checked out ED- google EDSTC. Largest dealer anywhere, much better prices- send me half your savings! ha
