New Brass Question

It's been awhile since I bought new brass. What are you guys using? Looked at prices for premium brass-SCARY. But is any of it worth around $100 a 100 count.

I'm avoiding Winchester because I had a bunch that split the necks, first shot. I'd say Lake City is pretty good brass.
I've been shooting Hornady factory stuff that is giving awesome groups out of my rifle, be tempting to buy that if it was a good deal.

What are you shooting it out of?

I can get 1000 rounds of new, unprimed LC brass for $191 here:

Brassman Brass

You're probably not looking for .223/.308 brass though.

I like the better grade of brass in high performance cartridges. Or in a rifle that I want supreme accuracy out of. There is a few reasons why Lapua brass is better, and why it is more expensive. I use Lapua in those rifles.

In my other rifles I normally use Winchester as my first choice.

I did buy 50 pieces of Nosler to try in my 30-06. And it is good brass. Very consistent. But I still think the Lapua is a bit better(more consistent). Tom.

i have only bought one bag of new brass and it is winchester for my swift. some on their 4th reload and no problems so far. these will get annealed next time around.
i did fl size them out of the bag before loading, though. i think i paid $36 for a hundred

i use mostly Winchester Brass but did buy some Remington not long ago from Midway that was pretty good its for my 35 Remington so its not used much at all and not a tackdriver at 300 or nothin so the Rem will work fine

Shooting 243 some of my brass goes back to th 70's. The last new stuff I bought was rem. nickel plated. It's now been loaded enough it's splitting necks. Was always a Winchester fan but am hearing bad things about their brass lately. But a buck a case seems awful high!!

I just purchased 500 rnds each of .243 Win and .308 Win. Winchester brass and loaded one piece of .308 ten times and it is still ok to load at least one more time. I hope the other 499 rounds dont split at the neck after the first loading!
