New Browning Fast-Twist Predator Rifles?

Anyone have one? .223 and .22-250 have 8,9 twist respectively; 204 is a normal 12, unfortunately. MossyOak or Realtree camo dip, detachable mag. I handled the .22-250 and it is light even with the 26" barrel. Price is almost twice what a Ruger American Predator costs, though.

I somehow got the two twist rates bass-ackwards originally; the .22-250 is 9, still not bad.
Can't seem to post the link from my device. Just Google "Browning Predator Hunter" and click on the Caliber Variations for the chambering you want. Saw a '250 (new) on GunsAmerica recently.

what problems are you having with the A-bolt guns ?? I've had one for over 30 years and have had no problems with mine.

I have no first hand experience, but it's been stated several times that the A bolt had questionable metal alloys along with a bad magazine design.
Obviously Browning new this was an issue with the completely redesigned action. It's just not very common for a company the size of Browning to trash their flagship action. Think Remington completely throwing away the 700 action or Winchester the model 70.
I've handled several xbolts and they really look and feel nice. If someone has some hard evidence that xbolts are gtg, I'd be very interested in one of these predators in 22-250. I'd guess it would stabilize a 75gr bullet with that much velocity.

Obviously you don't know anything about A-bolts. The A-bolts were never trashed they are still made. The X-bolt uses the same action with 3 changes. 1) There is a button on the bolt knob you can push in to unload the chamber with the safty on. 2) There are 4 screw holes per scope base (think X patern ie X-bolt).3)Detachable polamer rotory mag ( think Save 99, Ruger 10/22).

AS far as hard evidence that X-bolts are gtg, since they use the same action as the A-bolt and millions of them are in use and have been for many years use your own jugement.

I had an A-Bolt Micro Hunter in 243 for years. It was one of the handiest little rifles you've ever seen and 100% reliable.
I don't hunt big game any more and don't keep guns around that I don't use so I eventually sold it but only for lack of use, not lack of accuracy or performance.

Yep, I was up front and said it. Sorry, can't afford to shoot or own every gun ever produced. I'm sure there's a ton of guns you would either love to own or stay away from based on reputation alone. I'm not trashing Brownings. I'd buy an A bolt for the right money right now. It's undeniable though that Browning addressed perceived issues of the Abolt with the X bolt action.

Nope, don't know much about A bolts admittedly. But the very changes you listed with the X bolt were the number one complaints I've read about time and time again with the A bolt.
And your right, , I worded that last paragraph incorrectly. Most of the hard evidence is in the build spec that Browning tried to improve their action.

I never had a problem with any of those "issues".
Only thing that needed addressing was the trigger but other than CZ and Cooper I've yet to see a factory trigger that didn't need some love. And even then the CZ still needs adjustment.

Too Much? Is that you?

The X-Bolt was and is a marketing evolution for Browning to sell more/additional products.

Problems with the A-bolt are largely like most internet "problems". "I've never owned or shot one, but I've read and heard..."

I'm not a huge Browning follower, but come on. Some people like one thing. Others like another thing. That's why choices sell. No factory rifle is perfect, but we all like certain specific things and models better than others.

I for example like the Winchester Model 70 3-position side swing safety. Some people hate it. But the fact that I like it has nothing to do with the Winchesters that I'm really a fan of that came long before today's modern bolt guns.

Thems fightn' words. I'm way purdier than 2much. I know this because if his constant sour tone. Lol.
I'm not hating on Browning that hard. I'm all over this 1:9 twisted 22-250 predator.

I know that's quite a personal jab, but with all of the obviously educated information you were imparting to everyone, I quickly formed the parallel.

What are your thoughts on Tikka rifles? To quote at least one of you, are they a POS that only stupid, ill-informed people would buy?

I have one in 22-250. Very nice handling rifle for a 26" barrel. Very accurate after break-in. I believe these are a shot show special and pricey but there are deals out there.

I can't form a biased opinion on Tikkas because I've own one. Lol.

That's what I'm wanting to hear. Could very well be my next rifle. What bullets have you tried so far? Thanks.
