New Cabelas Speedy Yote Seat

I have one and the complaint I have is fitting it over my winter clothes. Then keeping it up, it has a tendency to slide down. (maybe my belly pushes it?) The seat is very comfortable and warm, lots of pockets. I have tried modifying with straps and no much success. I am going to try suspenders. Ifit had should straps, I would love it.
 
I have this seat and have tried it once. It works well and is smartly designed. There are lots of little features that make sense. The clips on the hand warmer muff got to go, but that's all I can complain about.

doug1225 - if you want something with straps, sell that Cabelas thing and get on the waiting list for the Foxpro vest. Had I not just bought the Cabelas yote seat I would have waited for the Foxpro vest. It looks like the same type of seat and has really good straps.

I struggled with the decision between the FoxPro Vest and the Cabellas Speedy Yote Seat. I went with the Speedy Yote Seat.

Reasons;

1. Lots of complaints about the poor quality of the FoxPro Vest.
2. The seat on the FoxPro Vest has to be snapped up and un-snapped to put it down. The Speedy Yote Seat has elastic straps on the seat that allow you to simply flip the seat up or flip the seat down.
3. Complaints about the FoxPro Vest remote pocket being too small for the TX-500 remote (Really, the FoxPro Vest won't carry the remote for the FoxPro Furry!!!)
4. The Cabelas Speedy Yote Seat camo matches the rest of my camo (Seclusions 3D Open Country).

I am glad Cabelas carries both the Speedy Yote Seat and the FoxPro Vest, allowing me to see, touch, and try out both.

I fashioned a custome seat:

5 gallon plastic bucket - painted camo with Krylon spray, wrapped with foam to make it quiet against brush.

I tried a couple chairs, but find that I am much more comfortable sitting on my bucket and can easily pivot side to side when scanning - and it also serves double duty as a gear carrier.

It won't win any fashion contests, but that is not the mantra for Redneck Engineering...

Funny that you post that! That is almost Identical to what I am building.
A 5 Gallon Bucket with a swivel cushioned seat.
Great minds think alike.
Although I think Cabela's now sells this exact same setup for like maybe $15 bucks.
Funner to build it on your own, right?
 
Had a $100 gift certificate for cabelas burning a hole in my pocket since xmas, so I ordered one of the speedy yote seats and a couple of the new ruger factory 25 round 10/22 mags.
 
Do you have to be leaning against something to keep the back support up on the Cabelas yote seat or will it stay up free-standing?

I am wondering if someone that has one of these could tell me how big of a waist these have opened up all the way. It has been cold here in Michigan and with all the extra layers of clothing I am wondering if I would even be able to wear one. Thanks

I have a 38" waist and I have to pull the straps in as far as they go, leaving about 3" - 4" of strap on each size. So, that would make the maximum around 44" to 46".
