Hey Guys. Only seven more days, less for some. Looks like the weather might cooperate for us. As far as I know everything is all set for the week. Every one is going to meet at the camps that will be the base of operations, weigh in ect. The phone number for camp is 207-246-2327 for any one that might get turned around. Upon reaching Pines Market in Eustis give the camps a call and me or some one will come get you, we are only three miles from the market, convenient hey!!! I am heading up on Sunday so I will do my last post when I get into work on Saturday night. I will have access to a computer up there but it will be few and far between. If there are any other questions before Sunday PM me after that call me at camp.

Hey Guys
One other thing I failed to mention. Those of you that are bringing semi-autos like Ar's need to know that Maine Law requeires that the magazine needs to be permanently altered to hold no more than four rounds so you can have no more than 5 rounds total in the gun. Sorry!

Meguide, you can have a five round clip, I copied this from the State Inland Fisheries Site

4. Auto-loading firearm (a firearm which reloads itself after each shot and requires a separate trigger pull for each shot). It is unlawful to hunt with or possess for hunting any auto-loading firearm which has a magazine capacity of more than 5 cartridges,* unless the magazine has been permanently altered to contain not more than 5 cartridges . (Note: This provision does not apply to .22 caliber rimfire guns or to auto-loading pistols with barrel lengths of less than 8 inches). *Plus 1 in the chamber for a total of 6.

ok guys. my plans were to leave on sunday but things change. i will be leaving on saturday morning straight out of work, my boss felt nice tonight. i appoligize for all small letters, i burned my left hand pretty bad this morning. i will be watching for you guys, like i said when you get close call the camp number and i will meet you. after tomorrow you will be able to reach me at that number if you have any last minute questions.

I got my non-resident small game license tonight.

non-resident small game - $42
night hunting coyote - $4
agent fee - $4
Total - $50

Small game for the year is $67. For you guys in NH that may plan on going back this year, this is the better deal.

Meguide,
Could you email me any info on lodging in the area? Thanks.

Looking forward to meeting you guys up here in Western Maine. I'm new to this forum...and new to coyote hunting. I live 20 miles from the camp...in Rangeley. It's raining hard today, trails are icy-may get some snow tonight. Lots of coyotes here...expect a tough hunt, they downwind me. Been going out at night lately. About lodging, if you're thinking of Rangeley...that weekend is Snodeo, usually overbooked with snowmobilers...but the weather may remain bad (very little snow), which could mean cancellations.

Hello,

Not sure if I am doing something here that is ok or not. If this is a no no then just kill it.

While you coyote killers are up north, if you take a few pictures of your harvested coyotes and send them into a local (MAINE) web site, they are offering a 50 dollar prize to the best photo.

Also, another coyote contest that is going on here requires a 2 dollar entry fee and all money paid back to winners.

You would have to pre enter and have the coyote weighted via certified scale and send the slip, phone number of weight station to the contest address.

Please do not think I am trying to highjack this post, I just want to let all of you know that any coyote you harvest during your hunt can be entered into these 2 contest and maybe you can pick up a couple bucks in this contest.

I will post contact info and web site info only if I am made aware that it is ok to post that info here. Again, I do not want anyone getting upset with me bringing this info to your attention.

Hopefully one of you guys may get a chance at the prizes down here. Good Luck to all of you!!!
