New Glock 42

Just picked up a new Glock 42 (.380). Very compact and shoots pretty darn good as well. I also picked up an IWB and OWB holster for it as well. I also have a Glock 23 but it's alittle hard to conceal during the summer months.
Here it is compared to my Glock 23 (.40 cal).

Funny you mention it...I just ordered one myself. Looks like a great little carry piece.

Have you shot much through it? Is it ammo sensitive?

Do you have an early release or a later one? (Easy way to check is to pop the slide off and look for a "1" molded into the frame's plastic near the trigger bar...can't miss it from the top view.

Only fired about 20 rounds out of it. Shot some Winchester 95gr FMJ and some Hornady Critical Defense rounds. Recoil was minimal compared to some of the smaller .380 frames.
I'll have to check the frame. It took one week for it to come in after I ordered it. Paid $340 for a "blue label", I'm LE.

Wow. That really is slim by comparison! I like a .380, but some of the uber-little guns make me wonder if all of my fingers would survive a high stress usage.

My Bersa fits me in price and in size. It may sound funny, but I sold a Bersa for a Walther and went back to the Bersa. The controls are similar to my other autos. The Walther took some reminding.

Besides, my girlfriend has started to think it is hers, better keep it.

Nice looking mini Glock- I carry a LCP but I like Glocks a lot. In fact I have a G 30S on order now.

I am a big Glock fan, with #6 arriving at the FFL in the
next day or so. But when it comes to 380s, the Glock
will have to go a ways to match my S&W 380 Bodyguard.
I love that pistol, and at SD ranges, I don't need sights,
or the silly laser. I had a Ruger LCP, that my nephew
now owns. I liked it well enough, but just never warmed
to it. A LE friend let me test his BUG, a S&W 380 Bodyguard,
and it was love at first fire. I sold the Ruger, and
bought the S&W. Now in my truck, I have a Glock 23, and
a Glock 27, both in IWB holsters that I can carry, if I
can hide them, and a S&W 380, in a pocket holster, when
I can't hide a Glock on me. But if I get another Glock
discount coupon, or win one at a match, I might have to
make Glock #7 a Glock 42.

It's considerably smaller than the G26...especially in width

I fondled one at the Glock shop today, and I disagree with
this statement. I carry a G27(same as the 26, except a bigger
hole for a muzzle), and it is definitely smaller than my
G27. I actually was carrying my S&W 380 Bodyguard, and
asked the nice man behind the counter if I could pull it out
to compare it. He said, "Sure", and it was a little thicker,
about 1/2" longer at the grip, and the slide, than the S&W.
So I would say it was closer to the S&W pocket pistol than
to my Glock subcompact. Nice little pistol. It made my
next Glock short list. It will be a fight between the G30s
and the G42. I have a G30SF, so the G42 might get the nod.

I will be picking up Glock #6, a G21 Gen4, tomorrow after
work. I have a feeling there is going to be a pile of 45
brass on my range, in front of the plate rack.
