I have 100's of new and once fired bass varget powder imr 3031 nosler 55gr BT around 600 on hand Hornady 55gr v max and hornady 50gr spsx bullets. Left over from my old adl rem 700 22 250. I used 36grs of varget with bt and it was a tack driver. I have been looking for some nosler 50gr or 55 in the Varmageddon bullets where can I get some anybody used any on yotes. Has anybody got this gun and a load work up for it. Can't wait to try it out. Is there any better powder I should try please will take any help I can get. Ty vm

You are in luck with that a new Tack driver .. I have the same gun and shoot all Hornady , 55 gr SP , VMAX , and 52 gr. Amax .. all loaded 38 gr H 380 and COAL at 2'40 "... Tried some 50 gr SP and they shot good too , but had to be seated at 2.35 " . Then again mine is left handed , yours may be different ...lol. Have fun I know you'll enjoy your toy .

I also shoot H380 out of my Tikka. 38 grains and seated between 2.505 to 2.535 depending on which Tikka I'm shooting. This is for 55 NBT. Using 50 Vmax I bump it up to 39.5 grns.

This is the load I shoot in my win mod 70

I kept the 5th so I could copy it when I got home. This was the best of 4different loads. I also have a load using 52gr bergers but no pic

I've been loading for and shooting varmint rifles for well over four decades and the 22-250 is one of my all time favorite coyote rifles. I've developed loads from many, many powder/bullet combinations. The 22-250 is easy to find good loads for. For years I had my head stuck in the Varget and H-380 cans along with others. Then, on a lark I decided to try IMR-8028XBR powder that has worked so well in the 222, 223 and 204 calibers in a 22-250. The load combination was 35.5 grains of IMR-8028XBR and Berger's 52 grain HP match varmint bullet. Wow! Groups shrank to ragged one-holers!
Looks like it turned out to be a marriage made in heaven for the 22-250.

I am going to buys some to and try it. My first 22 250 I had I loaded H380 ok groups. Then I tried varget and not used anything esle. I am hoping it will like the 55gr BT. Have a bunch of them. Do u think the IMR 8028 will work with that bullet? Man that is a tack driver u have vm

I like varget because it works good in different rifles I have maybe one I run out I'll try something else but for now it's the most accurate I've tried. I don't worry about velocity as much as others so long as it goes where I want it. I also haven't tried any ballistic tipped bullets. I have 1000 of the hornady SP that I got cheap in an estate sale and you can see they shoot good enough. I want to try to get loads worked better with some TAC and H4895 because all three of these powders I use in my 223, 308 and now my 243 once I get dies here for it.

If it shoot like everybody's sayin I may have to order me a 223 in the Tikka. I know my Tikka 25/06 is a shooter. I am going to load up some 55gr bt. At first when Tikkas came out I wasn't a fan of them until I shot one now I love them. Vm

Reloader 15 worked up to about max load and 50 grain Sierra Blitz Kings. Fed. large rifle match primers. Winchester brass, Seat em just off the lands. Nosler BT and V-max OK too but I quit after the Sierra's were shooting so good.

Well I ended up with RL-15 and Berger 52 grain varmint HP. Good luck on trying to get to the lands on those guns, they have some long throats. Rick

I think if you can get to the lands that most guns shoot better. I was just telling him with the Tika 22-250 he couldn't get to the lands. Rick

It would have better been said to work your load up to near maximum with Reloader 15 and I believe that would be the one listed by Hornady in the load I use. But start slow and work up.

Seating depth should be worked to the same way, start at the recommended and then work out. I won't say were mine are cause it may not work for you.

If standard or recommended overall length shoot well I leave em there especially on a carry rifle.

The H380 55 Nosler BT that shoot in my Savage 12BVSS are not as good as the 50 grainers and R15. It seems more partial to boat tail 50 ballistic tip type bullets.

Hope this helps.

Hi I had some reloads left from my rem 700 22 250 I tried in the Tikka 6 shots when I got it sighted in a group that you could cover with a dime. Win brass and primer and 36.5grs of varget and a 55gr bt. Man it will shoot. When I bought my gun I asked the guy that was working there if he had a used scope until I could get me a nikon. He said yes he come carrying a old Tasco world class 8x32x44mm fine crosshair with dot. The ones made in Japan. Had 30.00 rings on it look new. The guy was new worker in the store he asked me if 20.00 dollars would be to much. I handed him a 20.00 as fast as I could. Use it until I can get me a nikon. Plus as much as I love that Tikka I have to order me one next month in a 223. I can't wait. I mess up one of the screws on one of the rings. And I bought my 25/06 used. The guy that I bought it from mess one of the screws up big time. So I email Tikka and told them my trouble I needed new screws for rings and how much it would be he asked me my address I told him. He said he would send me them free no charge. Got the box in that I thought had screws in today. The guy sent me 2 sets of Tikka rings at. No change man could be happier with my purchase. Never had Remington do that for me. I can't wait until I get the 223 now thanks guys for helping on this. What bullet would u reload for the 223? I am going to try varget power in it. Going to order a 8pd keg. Vm

I wanted a light 22-250 and came across a great deal on my T3 and I like it so much I traded one of my other rifles in on a 223 T3.

Go to the Hornady reloading manual and work up to their max load for H322 and 55 v-max. It should have an 8 twist and shoot about anything good.
