New handgun

I went to the gunshop just looking around and ended up walking out the door with a new Glock 19c (compensated bbl). I had a 26 before but had been wanting a 19 for awhile. I wanted the regular 19 but after looking at the compensated model I decided to go with it. Only put a few rounds through it so far but am really liking the way it shoots and feels compared to my g26.

Im getting ready to start reloading 9mm. Never loaded for an automatic handgun before, any helpful tips?

Same load that I'm using in my 26.

Nice! IMO, a Glock 19 is the best all around semi auto, self defense pistol on the planet! Goes bang every time you pull the trigger, always. Good job.

RB- no real reason, it wasn't that much more and I like the lightning show it gives in low light lol. Actually my gf shoots alot and I figured it might be a bit more tolerable for her. She didn't like my glock 26 much.

I guess I should have included the caveat that a pistol someone like foxy can walk in and walk out with in a few minutes would be a semi-auto and not an "automatic" like the less than knowledgeable news media typically refers to all of them.

Splitting hairs aren't we? Same thing with ARs, it dosent matter what we call them, media still calls it an assault rifle. Same thing here. You are t gonna change their mind.

Though I prefer the M&P for my drastic plastic, the G19 is the best of the Glock line-up IMHO for the average CCW/defensive use. With that said, I am no fan of ported barrels on a defensive handgun. Dump the plastic sights and get a good set of steel sights on top (tritium front) and you should have a pretty darned good handgun. Good carry loads can be had in the form of 124 gr. +P or 147 gr. from Federal HST, Winchester Ranger T, or Speer Gold Dot. I just gave away a decent high ride pancake thumb break Galco holster that fit the G19 about three weeks ago. I would have sent it to you for nothing if I still had it. Congrat's on your new popper.

Thanks anyway GC

I'm not a huge fan of glock factory sights either, and will be looking to upgrade soon.

Any reason as to why the 124 or 147g as opposed to the 115s? My thinking could be off but I thought the 9mm and 115s went hand in hand?

Penetration... Shot placement is KING, penetration is QUEEN. All else is gravy...
