i want a new lever gun and im stuck between a 35 rem and a 45-70 im going to be using it for pig and bear what do you guys think what would you do?????

The .35 Remington is a great load, I have a 336 Marlin chambered in that and I've gone to shooting the Hornady Lever Evolution. Excellent weapon for my usage at under 200 yards with superb takedown *but* for boar and bear I'd leave it in the closet. I'm actually waiting to order a Marlin 1895MXLR in .450 Marlin for heavier duty and tinkering. For deer .35 is great but for things that can hunt me i wanna knock them on their a$$. Go bigbore and if you haven't already you might wanna check out the new XLR series, pretty sweet. http://www.marlinfirearms.com/firearms/xlr/1895XLR.aspx

45-70!!!

I think the .35 would do the job unless you plan to hunt those really big bears. I love the 45-70 so that's why I reccomend it.
