Hey guys and gals! I just wanted to introduce myself. I live just north of the Twin Cities, I'm a former Marine, and an experienced marksman. I am, however, new to hunting for the most part.

A buddy of mine and myself are planning a white tail trip this year, but in the mean time we want to start hunting Coyote. I'm well into my research, and the next logical step was the forums!

So, hi! I'm going to be reading a lot and asking the questions I can't find answers for. I would love to hear from some local hunters as well.

First question that I've yet to find a direct answer to:

I live near Carlos Avery WMA. I want to know when I can hunt Coyote there. Here's what I've figured out so far. Please correct me if any of these facts are not right.

-Coyote are always open and do not require any license in MN.

-You can hunt them on Wildlife Management Areas (WMA) as long as hunting is legal there in general.

-There are definitely parts of Carlos Avery that are open for hunting things like deer, fowl, and small game.

Here's the rub - I can't find any indicators on whether you can only hunt there during another open season, or if I can go there any time of day, any time of year to hunt Coyote.

Welcome ShotKill1each,
Check the prarie areas around there in the Spring where the geese and ducks nest. Coyotes like the eggs. Just a Spring tip.
