I pay several hundred $ a month on insurance, really thats none of your business, or O's for that matter.

That’s true it’s not my business. So I’ll just assume you would never have anything to do with government run health care, like Medicare or the VA.

So, when you're old enough for medicare will you use it?

Here is the deal with medicare, it don't pay crap now and when they cut it back more it will be worthless. There are places that don't take medicare now, so what are you going to do when no one thats it. You will be paying into something that is worthless like confederate money. The government can't run what they have, so why tackle more like healthcare...

As for the Symbol it will turn nicely in where the sun don't shine on the big "O"

Assume as you wish, it's still a somewhat free country. If medicare survives very long it will be a miracle. O's new Health Care is already cutting millions out of it. At least with medicare you have a choice if you want to be covered or not. His new Care for everyone, you have no real choice, you are mandated to use it or pay a fine. The commerce clause it's based on is a real joke since congress took health care insurance availability across state lines away long ago. That is a main reason for higher health care insurance premiums, no competition, caused by federal laws. Think that may have been the goal in making it against the law for health insurance companies to sell across state line?

not quite true, under current law when you hit a certain age -I think it's 70- you have NO CHOICE. You will be enrolled in medicare, like it or not & regardless of your ability to pay for care or need for medicare.

That may be, I've never researched it . As it stands now , with freedom of choice, I would never have to use it and could use my private insurance for medical payments. Correct me if I'm wrong.

.
Anytime you feel you want VA Care, go enlist.
For a person that has worked all his life, told he had to pay into these programs, and then accuse them of excepting that which they had no choice in?

I know that if you work for a paycheck you have the deduction taken out for medicare. When you reach the age you were referring to who is going to make you use it? Even if they say you are enrolled etc. When I go to the Dr. they ask me who my insurance is through. If I tell them Blue Cross what are they going to say if I'm over that age, you have to use Medicare that will reimburse them at a lower rate? I just don't see how they can make you use Medicare if you have other insurance. If what you are saying is correct how can Dr's refuse to take Medicare patients?
