New - old shotgun coming my way...

One thing on the shooting verses storing question, with gentle care a gun will still look great after being used. It can depend on the type of hunting, the weather and then how it's cared for. I realize a follow on buyer would rather have NIB, but it could still be desirable. As a family pass down, some gentle wear could be a plus.
 
I got my Dads light 12 when he passed on, cut my teeth using my Granddads Rem mod 11 12 ga, in fact had it out this morning on a failed crow hunt. It seemed everyone had one in the 60's & 70's , don't see anyone hunting with them anymore.

When I was in high school I worked in a sporting goods store in 1968, 1969 and 1970. We had a good selection of Browning Auto Fives in the store but we didn't sell lots of them because they were around $230.00. LOL

At that time I think we sold quite a few of the Sweet Sixteen 16 ga Brownings.

I started shooting some Trap when I worked at that sporting goods store. A few guys in our small town had Browning Broadway O/U Trap guns. I remember thinking those guys must be rich to buy a shotgun that costs over $440.00. LOL

Winchester and Remington pump shotguns were around $130.00 so that is what we sold more of.

I did buy a Browning 9mm Hi-Power at that time. The retail price on that 9 mm was $114.95 and I got a 10% discount off of that price. I sold that 9mm 3 or 4 years later for $150.00 and thought I made a killing on that sale.
 
Classic shotgun. Wish I had one. Good to see the "obsolete" guns in the field. Too much plastic and aluminum on guns today. As an heirloom, be sure to leave it to someone that will appreciate the gun and memories of you using the gun.
