How Do Shooters,
I purchased a Bushmaster Predator in July, I've been shooting for over 50 years and know what a trigger should feel like. The Gunsmith's Digital trigger scale reads over 8 pounds and on the second stage of the pull there is a lot of creep and it feels like I'm pulling a file across a piece of steel.
I called service, explained what we found and was told that the trigger was out of spec. The rifle was sent back to Remington and came back so fast that it was no surprise nothing changed. The message to me (written) was that all was in spec and the creep felt was in the first stage. The message to me (perceived)some flat rate mechanic gave it a feel and did not want to make it right.
I stripped the gun down and my gunsmith said it does not have a Predator trigger assembly in it as described in the Brownells catalog. The trigger is the old standard configuration.
Needless to say the service was poor, actually nonexistent and I'm saddened that Remington did not have a better QC department whille building the rifle and no one to check the "flat rater's" work.
My gunsmith is ordering a Timney trigger today, thanks for the additional expense Remington!
