New Rest and Bags

The rest is a Rock Br 1000 and the rear bags are a Edgewood Mini gator and Protektor Dr bag. The Savage tracks incredibly well in the Edgewood bag.

Pretty sweet setup you got there! It almost looks as if your shooting a 6.5x284 for F-Class.

What are you using for the feet and fill me in on what you used to extend your screws.

Thanks yes its a 6.5x284 for now, I have a Shillen 6br barrel coming for it also. I did set this up for fclass thats why I went with the Rock Br 1000, the feet and leg extension screws are from Sinclair's but could be made very easy from 3/8" ss allthread and some 1/4" alum plate.

Rich, I just got setup to shoot alittle F-Class myself. I bought myself an Edgewood Original, it weighs about 10 pounds full of blacksand.

I was shooting the same rest you have. But another shooter kept telling me about the new Caldwell Firecontrol. I told him to bring it to the next match, well to shorten the story I now own his rest /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'm shooting the 6 Dasher for F-Class. So far I have tried 105 A-Max, 105 Lapua, 107SMK, 105 Berger VLD, 108 Berger Match BT. They all shoot acceptable, but both of the Bergers shoot smaller than everything which comes to no suprise.

I have shot the 108's and 105's in the same match in the same conditions. It seems that the 105's give me more X's.

The mini gator weighs about 15 lbs filled with heavy sand and the DR bag just a little less.
I was looking at the same rest it seems like it would be alot faster to get back on than turning knobs and a mariner wheel, I would like to here more about that rest somtime.
I was thinking about a Dasher what are you getting with the 108's and did you ever try the 115's I've a 6br barrel coming for this and a 243 for my RB LP action to shoot the 115's I figured barrel life with the 243 will probaly be like the 6.5x284

For velocities, I have only cronographed my fireforming loads using my friends cronograph. My CED cronograph should be here tommorrow I hope.

Just fireforming I was getting between 2900-2963fps with the 108's.

I haven't personally shot the 115's yet. If I were to go that route I would get a bigger case than the Dasher, like the 6x47 Lapua or 6xc and a 7.5" twist.

My friend shoots 115's out of his 243 ackley I think around 3000fps or a smidge over that. Its fun to spot for him it seems to have no wind drift compared to my 25-06.

If you ever want to know about that fire-control rest just pm me sometime.
