New rifle: what round to drop coyotes and save fur on bobcats?

Exactly Swift One, the 22 hornet is the one caliber that is about as perfect for cats and fox as you can get. And these 400-500 yds shots on cats and fox just don't happen with me and if anyone can't get them any closer than that they need something much bigger. I mean, if you place a caller 50-100 yds out and the cover is thick (like cats like) your shot is going to be in about that range. Anything other than a 22 hornet is going to be either to big or too small IMO. You kill enough cats and fox with the 22 hornet with the 40gr. pills and you will soon realize that it cannot be beat...guess the little 17 hornet would be close but haven't tried that.

I recently got a .223 and am going to try and find a fur friendly load with that. We'll see how that goes.
Thanks for all of the input.
