New Rifle

It will be interesting to see how effective it is (not that it's needed). A buddy of mine has the same rifle, but just the standard hunter with no threaded barrel, brake, cerakote or the different stock so it will be interesting to see how it compares. I am more interested in putting a suppressor on it however.

Got out to the range with the rifle this morning after loading some 129 (RL17) and 142 (RL26) ABLR bullets. Got sighted in really fast and had the 129's travelling 2940 ft/s and holding 3/4" at 100 yards and the 142 were trucking along at 2,820 ft/s, grouping just over 1/2".

Erik, that sounds like great accuracy at those fast speeds for the Creedmoor. I’ve been interested to hear what those ABLR 142’s would do.

I have had good luck with the 129, 142 and 210 (30 cal). I just load them as long as the magazine will allow and that always seems to do the trick. Of course, assuming there is enough bullet in the case and you are not just jamming the crap out of them. In the case of the 129 and 142, they ended up being .050" off the lands.

and no signs of pressure in the cases so there is a little room to grow on with both powders. Case capacity with the RL26 is getting tough to come by though (even with the use of a drop tube).

Man I don’t know Erik, if you try to get any faster I think you might want to go to a faster caliber suited for it. The Creedmoor was built to do what it does, accuracy and good barrel life.

I'm sure I won't get too much more out of it but I am not all that concerned with barrel life.
