I am new on this forum. I am a professional dingo trapper in Australia, though lately I have been spending more and more afternoons and nights calling them in. Usually shooting them with my 223R with Pulsar thermal scope or 6.5CM with VXR Firedot, using 55gn and 95 gn bullets respectively.
Just bought a 12 gauge for those close in fast movers. Fitted a holosite and have five choke tubes including full. I will be doing some pattern testing with BB's, #1 and #4 buck, OOSG and what we call AAA which has 44 pellets in a 2 3/4" shell. I have a two week program starting on the 7th April in the Canarvon ranges in Central Queensland, on a 200,000 acre cattle station. Killed 54 dogs there last December. Shot about a dozen, trapped the rest. A shotgun would have been real handy on a couple of occassions.
