New toy for the AR!!!

I just purchased a Ciener .22lr conversion kit for my AR. Man that thing is cool. I only have the 10rd clip at this point, but the 30rd ones are on the way. I prob burnt 10clips thru it lastnight, so about a dollars worth of .22 or 50 bucks worth of .223. Man I am already liking the savings on ammo.

I found this one for $150. Seems to be pretty accurate. I was just blastin last night. Didnt have time to get the scope on and dialed in so I left the carry handle on and just blasted away.

I wish I could get that in a .22 WMR. Where I hunt we can only use remfires for coyotes. I just bought a new bushmaster M4.

Blackdog makes the only mags, other than the factory $70 Ceiners. They give you more trigger time for less money. Mine shoots thru a 1 in 9 twist barrel with a 4moa Aimpoint, accuracy is not great. But fun none the less. I should have my 1 in 12 twist SBR barrel by Christmas. We'll see if that helps the accuracy any. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

Turk, is that the genII mag from Black Dog?

No, I have the 1st gen (skinny mag,30 rnd), 2nd gen (full size, 27 rnd)are about the same profile as a regular ar mag.

ETA: Link to web site. Click on the link, you'll see the 2nd gen mags.

is that a A4 lower lookS good
i am thinking of buying a 22 upper halve i think CZ makes one with free float tube for about $280 but i think 10 rd mag only...

This may be a dumb question, maybe not dumb-just dont know because I am a worry wart......will shooting a bunch of .22 ammo through your barrel foul the barrel badly to the point it could change the accuracy of lets say a match barrel?? Will it affect the accuracy when it is time to shoot .223 rounds??

Everything I have read about that says it's nothing to worry about.

Has anybody heard about fouling the gas tube?

I know several guys that have and use the 22LR conversions, no problems switching back and forth. One comment I've heard...if you did manage to get some fouling in the gas port while using 22LR, the first time you shot a full power load it will clean it out.
