New Toy

All this 1911 talk cost me money. I picked up a Springfield 1911 RO today. Came with the little kit including 3 mags and a holster. Supposed to had a holster for the mags but he said someone stole it. Guess I'll have to find some place to carry them.

Peer pressure is a real thing, congrats....;)

Looks like they discontinued the RO's. I didn't know they had 10 different models, which one did you score?

Mines the compact model. Looks like it may be a really nice carry piece. Doesn't tug at my pants with a full mag. Seems the 1911 style pistol is the only model I can actually shoot half way decent to. Seems to have a great trigger. Not overly heavy. Easy on the eyes. I like it!!

Interesting that they call their 4" guns Compacts, but I think the "Commander" moniker is registered by Colt, with it's 4.25" barrel.

Update.....

Took the new toy out again. I bought two more 17 rd mags to add to the included 17 & 20 rounders that came with the gun.

I ran all the mags filled to the hilt 2 or 3 times and never had any bobbles of any kind, going through almost 200 rounds, despite the 36 degree day.

I did squirt some Rem Oil on the slide before I went.

On another note, I bought a Uplula mag loader with the magazine order. This thing is amazing for loading double stack mags.

I highly recommend one if you struggle loading your mags.
