I know various bait & attractant scent can be purchased in the trapping industry. any body use it to add realism to the set and for cover scent?

Run a search for "Cover Scents" and sit back, it'll be interesting reading all the various opinons you get. That can turn into a "spirted discussion" at times. We just got done with a rehash of this a couple of weeks ago here. IMHO & E, you better kill them before they get to the decoy or it's all over but the crying. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Hey Tres,
I had a friend that has a pet rabbit. He saves me the droppings. I used to spread them around my decoy and around were i sat. I never could tell if it done any good. Its hard to fool a coyote`s nose. The best thing that I have come up with is cedar chips. I cut my wifes hose into 12 inch sections, half fill each section, then put a not on both ends. I keep one tied on my FoxPro and my backpack and I also keep one inside my Jack-in-the-box. My decoy always smells like cedar. It works for me. Coyote`s like cedars.

I have used both rabbit urine and droppings. in my area cover is heavy so they are on your decoy quick i had one we were filming come into the decoy with nose up smelling and when he got to the droppings stopped smelled them and looked like he went on alert. he then hit the plastic owl decoy hard. i will try to post a shot of the video soon.
so for what it is worth it semmed to work for me.

Oh CoyoteRich- puhLEEEZ, a yote would run past your trout urine all the way to my spread of Greek salad with mounds of feta cheese, garlic bread dripping of olive oil, and ...

It's like I read in a magazine a couple months back. If ya squirt some rabbit scent on ya then to the coyote you smell like a human that's rolled around with a rabbit.
