Well, I was out cow elk hunting this past weekend, and I figured I'd try to get my first couple of stands in for the '09-'10 season.
I set up around some thick pine trees, and called into a little open spot, where the trees and grass were a little less abundant for some visibility. At about the ten minute mark, what popped up? A gorgeous, furry badger...
I was surprised at how small the damage was to the badger, after it took a 130 Gr. from a .270.
It was quite a rush when I saw the white striped head coming in for a free rabbit distress meal.
Last but certainly not least, check out the claws on this sucker! They were about an inch long! They have to dig somehow...
So that's my story. First stand of the new season, and I called my first badger in. Seems like a great way to start it off!
