Nice looking reloading bench?

Ok I have a spare bedroom in my house in the basement that my wife uses for her crafts and we cleaned it up so I can move my reloading stuff in there from my garage which is t heated. Any ideas to make it fit in with the room to look good. I was thinking about using 2x4s and 3/4" plywood and she didn't like that idea. Now the trim and doors are oak stained golden oak color and there is some white shelves in there my gun cabinet is also a golden oak type of color which is in this room. Any ideas would be great. Also welcome e pictures of something you seen or have. Kind of want it to fit in with the house.
 
I'm in the exact same boat as you. I created a pretty good design in SketchUp that I can send you once I get home, if you are interested.? A co-worker that helped me design it works with wood quite a bit, he recommended sealing it with Minwax Paste Finishing Wax. I certainly don't claim this to be the best solution, but it is something that will make it look less like a bench and more like a piece of finished furniture. Or so I'm told...
 
We remodeled our kitchen when we bought our current house and I kept the old cabinets and most of the counter tops for my "man cave"/reloading work...

If you are acquainted with a carpenter or remodeler, they might be able to get you some decent counter top take offs and possibly some cabinet bases...



While it was messy when this photo was taken...The old kitchen had a breakfast bar that I reinforced with some 1" marine plywood under the counter material...Bolted to the wall, it's more solid than most need...

I made mine out of the kitchen cabinets as well. Free!!! I wasn't paying for the remodel they came out of so all I had to do was haul them off! They work very well!
 
I'd probably go that route as well, but our kitchen remodel isn't going to happen for at least another year. I can't wait that long to start reloading.
 
always had cabinet odds & ends left over when I was building house's, converted my garage, insulated attic, walls ect, used 3/4" birch plywood for counter tops, trim on the edges, 3 coats of poly eurothane (spelling), for my heavy bench I laminated the top , top 3/4" birch, middle 3/4 mdf, bottom 3/4 cd plywood, its 8' long and 36" wide.
 
My son got tired of my home built reloading tables. I had beefed up an old particle board computer desk with side printer table. Worked fine for years. But he went and bought me 2 Stack-On Reloading benches with shelves, and a Stack-On side table. They're both higher, very strong, look good, and have been working great. Can be found at Midway
 
Heres mine, its a mess but you get the idea. 2 Oak kitchen cabinets w drawers. Have 4 rollers per cabinet.

Cabinets are married together with a 2x4 running cross ways in front and rear, counter top screwed to that. Nice that I can roll around if needed. Total cost around $50.
