I'm just curious.
I know some people give nicknames to their guns.

But who has a nickname for their car/truck???

I blame my Dad for my habit of naming vehicles.

When I was growing up, he had a couple of vehicles that he gave nicknames to.....

He had a restored '62 Chevy 1/2 ton short bed: Called it the "Green Sex Machine".

It was Metallic Emerald Green. Had a .060" over 327 motor (original L76 365HP, out of a '66 Impala SS....I have no idea what the HP was after the final rebuild that got it to that .060" overbore); a manual 4spd w/hydraulic clutch; and 4:11 PosiTrac differential.

In the early '70s, I remember he had an old 2 ton wheat truck (1950s-something era body style), that he always called "Binder" or "Bertha", depending on his mood.
In the late '70s, he replaced that truck with a 1960 Chevy 2 ton, that he called "Nellie Bell".

Myself, I have named a few of the vehicles I've had........

...First vehicle was a '76 Chevy 1/2 ton, that was a dark green color. I named it "Dr. Doom". (I was still into comics at the time.)
...Had a '74 F150 that was orange. I called it the "Thing" or the "Beast" depending on my mood.
...Had a '81 Ford Courier, that because it was small & light blue, I named the "Smurf".
...Had a grey & white '86 Buick that I called the "Grey Ghost" because it always seemed to be breaking down & on it's death bed.
...and had a '81 Olds 88 that I called "The Turd" simply because it was brown.

Like my current pickup, most of the vehicles I've owned though, have not had nicknames.

I'm guilty of naming them.

Simon Birch Metallic is the newest one. Simon is about to get some black wheels and a bit bigger tires.

I usually don't yell at the truck when i get stuck though.. That is always the co-piots fault. If there is no co-piot, it's the coyote in the backs fault. Or the tires fault if none of the above are present.. That tire gets kicked alot. Especially when you are staring at it when you are busy digging it out.

Yep it was a 67... Your post got me thinkin' diggin out that old pic... Some of the best days of my life... First girl I ever gave a [beeep] about... That car and her in the front seat... She was skinny, light skinned with freckles and jet black hair... She was also crazy as [beeep]... She liked to go to the cemetery and drink seven and seven, watch the sunset... It would be a lie to say I did not like going out there as well...
