Night Hunting bill in South Carolina.. Hogs/Yotes

A bill has been introduced to the General Assembly in South Carolina allowing hunters to hunt hogs and coyotes at night with center fire rifles and shotguns.

Although these vermin ravage our country side eating crops, fawns and turkeys, the SC Dept of Natural resources is really against it.

Have any of guys fought this law?

What are some points I could make?

Thanks,

Phillip

We are trying to pass similar regulations in NC. I wish ya'll well.
If I come up with any suggestions. I'll Let you know.
P.S. I hunt SC a pretty good bit. I bought a lifetime license before I moved up here. So I would like to see it passed too. As this will open new opportunities for me. I'm only 30 min from the state line.
If I can write some letters to help out let me know.

Hope it pans out in SC. I live in Louisiana and we got tons of hogs. We can now hunt them 24/7, 365 days a year. We can, also, if permitted, hunt them at night with a suppressed rifle.

I hope they pass it as well... but don't think SC wants to get into safety issue... as well as poaching... their DNR guys would have to get out of bed to check out complaints... and that would cost gas and sleep.

Just got the Wicked Light W400 green mounted to my coyote gun for this up coming event and about time.
The 2013 South Carolina hunting coyote at night rule:

From the last day of February to July 1, upon notification to SCDNR at least
48 hours in advance, coyotes may be hunted at night with artificial lights
and night vision devices using any legal firearm, bow, or crossbow. Notice to
SCDNR is required once per season for each property and the names and
hunting license numbers of each person participating in the hunt must be
listed. Hunters using centerfire rifles during this time must be at an elevated
position at least 10 feet from the ground. Persons convicted of certain road
hunting and night hunting violations during the previous five years are
ineligible to hunt coyotes at night. The required notification system will be
in place by February 2013 at www.dnr.sc.gov/nighthunt.

This is interesting Duck... what are your thoughts about hunting 10ft off the ground at night...? Is ten ft measured at your feet...or at the rifle...LOL. Me being six ft tall.... I would only need a small ladder for the extra 4 ft.
